The Licensing Act 2003 controls the sale of alcohol, regulated entertainment, and late-night refreshment.

Swale Borough Council is required to prepare and publish a statement of its licensing policy at least every five years. The existing policy will expire on 31 March, 2026.

Swale Borough Council is now seeking your views on the Draft Statement of Licensing Policy 2025 - 2030 (PDF 715KB). The draft policy includes some amendments. For that purpose the Statement of Licensing Policy Consultation document (PDF 117KB) summarises the proposed changes.

Swale Borough Council would welcome your feedback on the draft policy.

The regular review and adoption of The Statement of Licensing Policy is essential in ensuring that the Council's policies and procedures are up to date and effective in ensuring a safe and regulated environment for users of licensed premises.
