In response to requests from many villagers for a public tribute to the late Queen, Newington History Group (NHG) is helping organise a short ceremony this weekend where people can come together and pay their respects.

It will be held at the Memorial Garden beneath the village sign at 1pm on Saturday, 17th September.

Everyone is welcome to join the vicar, representatives of the parish council and the history group on this historic occasion.

Villagers are invited to lay flowers or other tributes at that time.

A Book of Condolence is open in the parish church.

NHG is grateful to bellringers from Newington and the surrounding villages who will be ringing a quarter peal at St Mary's church on Thursday, 15th at 7.30pm. The quarter peal takes around 45 minutes to complete.
